We are glad to inform that the 4th edition of International Arbitration by our President has just been published by Bruylant this time in French in two volumes under the title Arbitrage International.
This expanded, revised and updated edition puts an emphasis on the procedural aspects which have created international arbitration rather than a simple instance in which the parties are of different nationalities and/or which concern transnational relationships.
This book introduces new concepts such as the definition of international arbitration based on procedural law (different from transnational law) and a doctrine (the "tronc commun" doctrine) to identify the substantive law applicable to disputes between parties of different countries and suggests that an international arbitration law has developed through the various conventions and laws.
This edition has been enriched by covering, in its special part, also investment treaty arbitration, arbitration between public bodies, between States and individuals, the UNCITRAL Model Law and the Iran-US Tribunal, as well as merchandise arbitration, online arbitration and sport arbitrations.
