L’ARBITRAGE - Nice - December 7-8, 2011

The first formal “Partenariat” with an University

On the occasion of the Seminar on “Arbitration”, which was held in Nice on December 9 and 10, 2011, as per attached programme, the European Centre for Arbitration and Mediation has officially opened, in the presence of authorities of the Municipality of Nice, of the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, of the European Court of Human Rights and of Representatives of various Bar Councils, its French Branch “Grand Sud”.
A protocol was entered into by the President of the European Centre for Arbitration and Mediation and the President of the University of Nice.
This is an important milestone in the project to respond to the Centre’s international vocation and to spread, around Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle East culture of arbitration and mediation as a service to the parties with a particular eye on speed and cost effectiveness which characterize our Institution, since its foundation in 1959.
As the Chairman of the French Branch “Grand Sud”, Prof. Yves Strickler, have said, we have the “vento in poppa” (full wind in our favour). Its up to us to win the new challenge and we will make it.
