INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF ARBITRATION AND MEDIATION OF THE MEDITERRANEAN AND OF THE MIDDLE EAST
The International School has the same address of our European Centre of Arbitration and Mediation (Strasbourg, 3, Quai Jacques Sturm).
It is directed ex officio by the President of the European Centre of Arbitration and Mediation.
It organises courses on arbitration and on mediation in order to form arbitrators and mediators in the Mediterranean and in the Middle East.
Its faculty includes university professors and experienced arbitrators, who are selected depending on the venue.
The Scientific Committee of the European Court of Arbitration, which includes Prof. Pierre Mayer, Doyen Eric Loquin, Prof. Bernardo Cremades, Prof. Juan Armesto, Prof. Francesco Luiso and Prof. Carmine Punzi, is consulted on these occasions.
The opening address of the School was delivered by the President at Villa Canossa (Casale sul Sile – Venice) on the occasion of the 5th International Conference, Med-Mid (Mediterranean and Middle East).
The first course on arbitration will be held in Nice (France), together with the University of Nice, on December 8, 9 and 10, 2011.
Courses are organised each time with the local University and they provide at least 2 consecutives days (normally a Friday and a Saturday).
They aim also to share and strengthen the vision of arbitration of the European Court of Arbitration, which, together with the Mediation Centre of Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle East, is a branch of the European Centre.
